Doylestown Township Parks and Recreation is excited to partner with Wickline Casting this Winter & Spring to offer some exciting new programs for your creative young "stars!" Wickline Casting, which is based in Philadelphia, has over 10,000 credits in commercials, Academy Award winning films, and television. The below programs were designed by casting director, Kathy Wickline, CSA. Aside from her success as a casting director, Kathy has a commitment to sharing film making with children through after school programming and summer camps. For more info please visit www.wicklinecasting.com.

Please note the new dates for the Intro to TV & Film Program: February 14th through April 4th, skipping February 21st and March 21st.

Intro to TV & Film: Acting & Film Making
This after school program is a version of Wickline Casting’s popular summer camps. In this program, kids are introduced to various creative projects such as commercials, film scenes, music videos, public service announcements and many more! Each day children work as cast and crew teams. They learn basic levels of speaking for camera and live presentation as well as acting, directing and operating the camera. Some script writing, story boarding and improvisation will also be introduced. Your child will learn how to shine in front of the camera or learn how to make it happen "behind the scenes."   Our instructors are professional actors and directors with impressive credits. We are excited about showing young people the art of Film & Television! Please note: There is NO CLASS on February 21st.

Casting Call: Acting for the Camera
This after school program is a version of Wickline Casting's popular summer camps and is designed for the aspiring young "stars" in your household. It is here that they will learn real auditioning skills by working with scripts for commercials and film scenes. Your child will learn how to characterize and follow direction, block for camera and read with their "co-stars." Improvisation and ad-libbing (off the script) will be taught as a basis of creating characters and trusting instincts. Acting on camera camp parents report that it builds confidence, strengthens team work and integrates creative choices.
