Deaf Awareness and Inclusion
This class is a precursor to our American Sign Language Program, it is recommended but not needed to participate in the American Sign Language Program. It will teach the best ways to communicate with people who are deaf or hard of hearing. We'll practice lip reading, take an unfair hearing test, and play games while learning about the Deaf Community.
Introduction to American Sign Language (ASL)
This American Sign Language 6 week program will teach you how to sign basic phrases and complete sentences and how to put it all together, allowing you to introduce yourself and start a conversation. Along the way, you will learn signs for colors, numbers, locations, family, and the activities you like to do. This class will be taught by Deaf Instructor, June Goodwin. On the first night, Suzanne Dunleavy will interpret for Mrs. Goodwin.
American Sign Language : Level 2
This program will teach you how to sign more vocabulary, phrases, complete sentences and increase you conversation skills. This program is appropriate for those who have completed the Introduction to ASL.
