July 7th: Summer Skin Care for Seniors
Is there a difference between sunscreen and sunblock? Yes, there is! Come learn about summer skin care for seniors. Join a PMDH health educator in speaking to the importance of sun protection, hydration, prevention of skin breakdown, and tips for keeping skin safe, healthy, and comfortable during the hotter months.

September 17: Stroke 101
A stroke is a "brain attack" that occurs when blood flow to part of the brain is cut off or a blood vessel ruptures, depriving brain cells of oxygen. Within a short period of time, this can be very dangerous.  Come and learn all about the signs and symptoms of a stroke and what you can do if someone is having a stroke.  Susan Buckman, RN, BSN who is the Stroke Coordinator at Penn Medicine Doylestown Hospital will provide all of this important information.
 
October 22: Communicable and Infectious Diseases: What’s on the Horizon
Infectious Diseases can be very harmful if they get inside our bodies.  Do you know the difference between endemic vs epidemic vs pandemic?  Bridget Mcenrue, RN is the Director of Infection Control at Penn Medicine Doylestown Hospital.  She will provide information about the existing infectious diseases as well as newly emerging ones.
Which are at risk for infecting humans and what concerns are there about those infecting animals?  How do we protect ourselves and our family/friends?  Come and listen to all of the great information.
 
November 17: Radon Exposure…Is it cancerous?
November is lung cancer awareness month.   Come and listen to Dr. Shefali Gajjar, a Radiation Oncologist at Penn Medicine Doylestown Hospital, talk about radon exposure and how it relates to cancer risk as well as learn some general cancer screening recommendations.
 
December 3: Bone Density and Longevity
How does Bone Density correlate with a person’s longevity?  Strong, dense bones, brittle bones, bone loss and aging, how are all of these numbers equated to someone’s overall health? Come listen to a Penn Medicine Doylestown Hospital health educator for this valuable information.
