August 5th : Why Kids are Struggling with Anxiety and What to Do
With the rise in pediatric anxiety and mental health, parents are left wondering where to turn and what local resources they can use to help their children. Some parents want to learn techniques kids can do at home to give them a good foundation for their future. Come to this talk, with Lisa Borine, MHA,  a Doylestown Health Educator, to learn what is causing the rise in anxiety, techniques kids can use to combat it, and local resources to turn to if they need extra support. Kids are encouraged to come with parents.

September 9th: How Food Affects Mental Health
Hippocrates once said “Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food”. The importance of nutrition on maintaining health has been known for centuries, but there is new research on how food specifically affects mental health. Learn from a Penn Medicine Doylestown Health educator on what foods you should be eating to better your mental health. 

October 7th: Being Your Best Self
What does it mean to be the best version of yourself and how do you find that version? Join a Penn Medicine Doylestown Health educator to see what living authentically is and how to stay true to your beliefs. Learn how to find your sense of happiness and meaning.

November 6th: Balance Assessment and Workshop *** Note this is 1-3pm
A physical therapist from Penn Medicine Doylestown Health will talk about fall risks and prevention. Following the lecture, the therapist will perform individual balance screenings.

November 18th: Communicating for Better Care
Have you ever had questions for your doctor, but forgot once you got there? Or maybe you feel overwhelmed when you get to the office and aren’t able to communicate as well as you’d like. Listen to a Penn Medicine Doylestown Health educator on how to communicate so that you can get better care. You will learn how to ask questions and leave feeling like you can tackle any appointment.

December 9th: Reducing Your Indoor Air Pollution
As winter approaches, it is a good time to look at common indoor air polluters. Join a Penn Medicine Doylestown Health educator to discuss safety around common sources of pollution, the health risks associated, and tips to reduce exposure to pollutants.
