Tai Chi for Arthritis

BC AAoA Logo
Developed by Dr. Paul Lam in collaboration with Tai Chi and medical experts, this program uses Sun Style Tai Chi, known for its gentle, flowing movements that promote relaxation, balance, and accessibility especially for older adults. The sequences are practiced on both the left and right sides, incorporating turns and directional movement to enhance mobility and provide a variety of combinations.

Tai Chi can be thought of as a moving form of yoga combined with meditation, offering both physical and mental benefits.

A certified Tai Chi instructor will gently guide participants through slow flowing movements
designed to create ease in the body and calm the nervous system.

This class is welcoming to older adults of all physical abilities. Movements can be performed either seated or standing, making it adaptable and inclusive for everyone.
